Joewell's Cobalt scissors set the standard when they launched over 30 years ago, and there's a very good reason why they've remained a popular choice for top hairdressing professionals ever since. They're made from a cobalt steel alloy that gives extra durability and sharpness—so they'll stand up to anything that salon life can throw at them, and then some.

The razor-sharp blades are finely honed to give an extraordinarily smooth cut and are fantastic for modern styles like blunt cuts. They have a lovely balanced feel and come with classically shaped even handles with permanent finger rest.

Gorgeous, comfortable and sharp! I love these shears. My only complaint ( and it's not much of a complaint) is that the tip of the blades are a bit blunt, not pointy, so it makes cutting against the skin on the nape and around ears a bit of a challenge for me. I will adjust.

Other shears were old and these are so much nicer and work easier. Not sure if these are made of the same Japanese Steele of years ago but time will tell.

    Nothing is better

I have been using the black cobalt for over 20 years. Nothing comes close to them. Amazing for slide and point cutting. They just keep cutting.
